Columbia University has established the Office of University Compliance within the Office of the General Counsel. This office will coordinate Columbia’s numerous existing compliance efforts and provide senior leadership with a comprehensive view of the University’s compliance activities. It will also manage the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process. The Office of University Compliance will not assume the duties of the various substantive compliance areas, and all ongoing compliance activities will continue in their existing reporting structures. Rather, the new office’s role will be to coordinate and monitor these efforts and assess University-wide performance.
